Date 4 of 52 Chill Night in Historic Folsom
Date 4: Chill Night in Historic Folsom
Location: Historic Folsom
Time Spent: 2 hours
Fails: No major fails other than realizing we didn’t order the short rib grilled cheese at Marly & Moo
Our chill night out was so fun in Historic Folsom. We started out doing happy hour at Marly & Moo. We each got a drink and ate so much food for only $30. Everything tasted delicious and we enjoyed looking at the view upstairs. Mrs. Smooch thought the marshmallow dip with sweet potato fries was a perfect combination. They even use Snook’s homemade marshmallows for the dip! We love when local businesses support each other.
We took a nice walk to The Game Getaway and soaked in the cute charm of Historic Folsom. We were excited to pick out a new game to play as a stay-in date night. So we needed a game that is exciting for just two people and that doesn’t take longer than an hour. We heard that Ron at The Game Getaway was really good at helping you pick out the right game for you, and he was fantastic! He knows every game so well. You can even pick any game on the huge wall of games and play all day for $5. As game novices, Ron helped pick out the perfect game for us, Carcassonne. We learned it is a modern classic, and it is a fun two player game that only takes about 35 minutes to play.
We had a little extra time before we needed to be back for our babysitter. So, we took our game to Snooks Chocolate Factory and ordered some delicious chocolates. At this point, we realized our fail. A lady stopped in and asked the great staff at Snooks where to get dinner. They suggested Marly & Moo and then gave her the advice we needed, “You need to eat the short rib grilled cheese and smore’s to share. They use our marshmallows!”. We missed both of those menu items, and so I guess we just need to go back. As we explored our new game, we got to eat our sweet treats and reflect on our chill night out.
We always love happy hour dates. Once we get home, we help kiddos to bed, and then we get to continue our date.
